Getting started
From signup to Get watching: name your site, point a camera, and tell us what matters.
After you sign in, GroundStatus creates an organization, a Default Site, and a Default Area, then opens the Map. The goal of session one is simple: see the product watching a place you care about.
Get watching checklist
On the Map you’ll see a Get watching panel. Three steps — collapse anytime and reopen from the compact chip. Honey marks the next step.
- Name your site. Use a name your team will recognize (for example, North plant).
- Add a camera. Phone QR is the fastest path when it ships. Until then the app explains what’s coming.
- What matters here. Site = what the business does. Area = what a camera there will see.
What “done” looks like
- Your site has a real name (not Default Site).
- You’re pointed at adding a camera on an area room.
- Site and area context are filled so checks don’t guess from pixels alone.
How a demo works (alpha)
The alpha demo path is: point your phone at an area (QR), write a plain-language check, and watch it fire on that corridor. File upload and RTSP attach next for sites that already have cameras.
- Cameras attach inside an area (hover for Add camera / +).
- Empty rooms always show Add camera.
- Monitors and chat are stubs until events start flowing.
